The Liver Research Club proudly introduces its project GRAIL (Grant Writing in Liver Research Training), held in collaboration with Prof. Răzvan M. Cherecheș, Executive Director at Cluj School of Public Health, Babeş-Bolyai University.

What is GRAIL

GRAIL is a 4-day workshop aimed to introduce the participants to the world of research. The workshop deals with the problem of how to write a research proposal, issue of great importance as long as the probability of obtaining funding will rest mostly on how clearly and persuasively the proposal displays the author’s competence to design and execute the study. Taking into consideration this, our purpose is to assist in achieving one end-a fair and useful hearing of your proposed research. By the end of this workshop, the participants will be able to efficiently use scientific resources, adapt their scientific work and projects according to the SMART objectives, identify financing sources and become aware of all the steps taken in developing a scientific project.

Eligible participants

Medical students, resident doctors, PhD students with an interest in the field of hepatology

 

Location

Someşul Rece, Cluj Country

We want our participants to have a challenging yet memorable experience, so we decided that the event will be held at Someșul Rece, Cluj County. The scenery will be a tranquil one as the cabin is placed near to Tarnița Lake, among the wood

Application

The applicant must submit a letter of motivation along with a Curriculum Vitae to our e-mail address: liverclubcluj@gmail.com, until the 19th of February 2017. Subsequently, each applicant will be invited for a Skype interview between 27th of February – 3rd of March, 2017.

Miscellaneous

A total of 24 participants will have the opportunity to be part of the GRAIL 1.2 experience. We will make a selection, based on your CV, letter of motivation and interview. The participation to the interview is the mandatory requirement for being admitted. Based on these criteria, 6 candidates will benefit from a scholarship awarded by the GLIHA Association and OSM Student’s Association. The scholarship will cover the entire workshop. The next 18 candidates will pay a 150€ fee, 120€ for OSM members.
